“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow;
they toil not, neither do they spin.”  Matthew 6:28

When I consider the lilies of our fields –

mauve crocuses struggling
through winter-cold soil,
wood lilies donning
their flamboyant orange,
daisies folding velvety petals
around their golden hearts,
purple harebells nodding
in a summer breeze,
dandelions echoing the sun –

when I consider the lilies of our fields,
I cannot see how
such an exuberantly creative God
could stop at only one world.
