The Start of a Beautiful Friendship (ice breaker event) starts in the Grand Ballroom. Get to meet old and new friends over a number of quizzes and contests. There will be prizes! This event is suitable for all ages. Hors d’oeuvres and snacks are served, as well as a cash bar in the Second Floor Foyer.
The Youth Program on Friday night will involve painting a castle in preparation for the trebuchet contest on Saturday. |

| 7:30 p.m. | You Must Remember This – Pub Trivia goes to the Movies Quizmaster: Peter Sells This Friday evening icebreaker event will see the room divided into teams of 4-6 players with the players divided into teams by the moderator (to divide the generations up). The questions will all relate to movies from the 1920s through to the 21st century. Do you remember Indiana Jones’ actual given name? Good, but that won’t be in the quiz now. The Quizmaster’s decision is always final. |

| 9:30 p.m. | Here’s Looking (Up) at You, Kid – Star and Moon Gazing Astronomist Victor Abraham The night of June 21 is fortuitously the date of the full moon, sometimes called the Strawberry Moon. This is an ideal time to check and see if we can spot any land rovers on the moon’s surface. Victor Abraham is Director of Outreach & Observatory Curator for the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, in Hamilton. He and other members of RASC will bring equipment to show us the heavens. The event will be at the south side of the hotel, in the parking lot to the right of the main entrance, near Bogey’s Restaurant. This is a hands-on presentation suitable for all ages. The presentation starts at 9:30 pm, however setting up and calibration will start at 9:00 pm. |

| 9:30 p.m. | Play It, Again Sam – Musical Jam and Sing-Along Vocalist and jam-leader: Rob Alexander Rob will host a musical jam and sing-a-long. He was a professional musician in an earlier life (haha) and has run jams before. Folks who want to participate can bring their own instrument, or just their voice if they want to sing. Those who want to listen need only bring their ears. Rob has lots of chord and lyric sheets printed out to hand to participants, and their songs are of course welcome. |

We even have a poker expert for those who want to improve their math skills. Of course kids might also want to take in some of the speakers as well. Most exciting is that Peter is a member of Hamilton Mensa, and participated in the original Trebuchet contest.
